The Burlington International Airport, BTV, is located 3 miles east of Burlington Vermont, home of the University of Vermont, and just ten minutes from Lake Champlain. BTV is Vermont’s largest airport and offers both commercial as well as charter and private flights.
The first flight landed, at what was then known as Burlington Municipal Airport, in August of 1920. In its 90+ year history the airport has undergone a great deal of growth including a recent $15 million dollar expansion.
Burlington International is served by 5 major airlines with non-stop flights to a number of different cities within the USA and Canada. With only 1 terminal and an excellent on schedule flight record, Burlington is a favorite airport among business and leisure travelers alike.
There are two levels at BTV. The First Floor is the location of gates 5-10, the baggage claim, rental car counters, and information desk. The second floor houses gates 1-2, a restaurant, conference room, vending machine, and the skywalks to the parking garage.
Burlington Airport offers both short and long term parking options in covered parking facilities. There are also ground transportation options at BTV including bus, taxi, and auto rentals. The airport is home to a Terminal Snack Bar, and One Flight Up Restaurant as well as 2 Hudson News Gift Shops, one in the North Concourse and one in the South Concourse. Wireless internet access is available throughout the terminal where you will also find couches, coffee tables, and easy chairs. The Skyway has an excellent view of the runways and planes which can be enjoyed from the comfort of a white rocking chair.
